Congrats if you're recently engaged. Whether you accepted on New Year's, Valentine's Day or anywhere in between, you're likely thinking about the next step: Planning your engagement party.
You can be frugal without being tacky. Take these tips into consideration as you kick-off your party planning.
1. Search online for the best deals you can find on invitations. We found this cute one (for a wedding brunch) at VistaPrint.com. It can easily be tailored for an engagement gathering.
2. Just like with a wedding, you can save on liquor costs by offering soda, water, beer and wine
3. Save the favors for the wedding OR you can gift your guests with a cute Save the Date magnet.
4. If you're comfortable with the idea, you could ask your parents and your future in-laws to split the cost of the party three ways.
5. Have an appetizer-only party -- call it a tapas party. This will save on price per plate if you're holding the party at a restaurant. Or try cocktails and dessert.
6. For decoration, you can place a centerpiece table with multiple picture frames of varying heights of your and your hub/wife to be.
