You don't have to slave away in the kitchen in order to host a fabulous dinner party. This year, resolve to help bring friends and family together with simple yet stylish gatherings.
Stop scoffing at the phrase "dinner party." We're not talking about beef wellington and brandy in snifters. If you keep it simple, you and your guests will have a great time and enjoy delicious food.
The Party:
- Barbecue - Old fashioned hamburgers and hot dogs with the trimmings. Not too difficult and inexpensive.
-
Backyard Clam Bake - Seafood can be a bit costly, so ask guests to bring a side dish. Instantly you have a fun pot luck.
-
Taste of the tropics - I'm thinking fun cocktails at you "tasting bar", premade chicken satay appetizers, fruit salad in cute cups -- make it a tapas night.
-
Dessert First - What kid hasn't wanted to do this. Break the rules. Have a fondue fountain because you can.
