Spring is an extremely popular among couples planning weddings. Beautiful weather, pretty scenery--getting married in the springtime doesn't mean you have to play by the rules.
TheKnot.com busts some common spring wedding myths.
- Your color palette should be pastel - No. You're wedding isn't a continuation or precursor to Easter. Choose punched up versions of your favorite pastels to give your wedding good shock value.
- You have to have a daytime wedding with a brunch reception - If you want an evening wedding, go for it. Spring evenings can be beautiful indoors or out.
- Your bridesmaids should wear short dresses - If you don't dig tea-length, try longer formal gowns with lighter fabric that flows in the breeze (like silk organza!).
- You have to have flowers EVERYWHERE - If you're not planning on getting married in a garden, then there's no need to have posies everywhere. Try using light ie. candles and lanterns to make a statement.
